Regarding those deep "D" cup handles; just how much volume am I losing by using these? I used them without hesitation on a 15/6 tube build, but I plan to use the same handles on a 12/6/1.

Should I be worried about compromising the design when using these handles on the smaller cab?

Not a problem. BTW, if you order the handles from Leland, they come w/gaskets..

Gizmo, on your 1212/6, if you use the recommended drivers AND the greenboy spec'd crossover, you have NO worries...

I think that 1212/6 is something pretty special.. I'm building one right now....

I'll be building a 15/6/1 very soon and am wondering if should roundover the port edges (1/4" roundover). I know it's not NECESSARY but will it help? Is there any valid reason not to do this?

I built sold-ported boxes for car audio for many years and always rounded over the port edges, including the edges of any part of a folded-slot-port box. I'm no math whiz, but I don't see why it wouldn't be beneficial in this case too. The smoother you make the port, to include it's entry, exit and transitions, the better it is for the airflow. Curious to hear thoughts on this.

Hi everyone, forgive me if this is already covered in any of the previous 10 threads on this topic I use two amps in a Billy Sheehan-fashion (one amp per pickup, two pickups in bass, one often distorted, etc, for a bass/drums altrock band)

So in your opinions, should I build/order mirrored 15/6/1 fEarfuls so they can be stacked with the mids/highs together if I'm using two signals?

Instinct tells me if it's coming from the same instrument, no matter what pickup position/etc, you'd still want the mids/highs together, regardless of what effects might be going through what cab.

Again, you are all extremely helpful and informative, and this whole series of threads is astoundingly informative! Thank you in advance for your time, both on my question and all the others!

Keep the mids and highs together. No matter that you've got distorted mids coming from one amp/cab and clean mids from another amp/cab, you still want as much of a point-source for frequencies in the same range as possible.

Very excited to be building my fearful 15/6/1 very soon. Waiting on a couple payments that are owed for some gear I sold and I will get things rolling. I already have the 3015lf and two of the 6ND410 drivers. I jumped on the 15 right before the prices went up and got the 6ND410s from theaudioauction.com for $124 shipped for two drivers. I plan on building a 12/6/1 cube to match my 15 in the future so I will use them both.

Can't wait to join the club!

Good on you for buying the drivers early; the money you saved will almost pay for a cut kit from Leland! If you're cutting your own wood, the money will pay for the wood and the crossover. You're in good shape!

I should've bought my drivers back when the news about the price increase broke. I dismissed it saying "Meh, how much could they go up?" How about 100%?

I'm also looking forward to being in the club. My kit should ship today/tomorrow. Assembly will be a slow process as I don't too much free time.

Design-wise, too many rounded over edges makes for a Playskool sort of look.

True if the radius is large enough, as in at least an inch, preferably more. The half-inch radius that one might use here will have no effect other than cosmetic.

I believe Greenboy recommended rounding over the inside edges of the ports in a post somewhere in these threads. I rounded mine, but if BFM says it has no noticable impact in this application, I guess it's a step that can safely be skipped.

While I believe Bill, I also know that it can't hurt. Aside from possible time wasted on my part, it can't have a negative effect AFAIK. Being that I'm going to have the router out anyway, I may round everything over. We'll see what happens.

Little update: the vibration is gone now. I am wondering though if 100watts into thr speaker is enough to make a statement that the vibrations are gone?

I read your thread over on GBs forums. The woofer wasn't sitting flush with the baffle.
