I'm going to recommend the mesa carbine m6 that I use. Quite big down low and can get sizzly/aggressive with my jazz bass. Huge low end. I'm curious about the streamliner though

I'm running a pre/power rig into my 15/6 at the moment. BBE Bmax and QSC plx1601 bridged to 1000w @ 8ohm, so very loud and clear. I have a 12/6 cube in the works and I'm very seriously considering picking up a Streamliner to see what all the fuss is about.

Thanks for the input so far guys. Sounds like I need to take my cab down to Bass NW and try out a few different heads. Some of the heads mentioned I've heard of but never seen. That leads me to believe they may be out of my price range. I'm going to be looking to keep it under a grand. And Jared I do like a more aggressive tone but with the ability to clean up at times so maybe the GK would work well. Sounds like I'll be trying out some heads in the next few weeks. Fun!

If you do come by bassnw, hit me up (I work 300 feet away). I might even bring my 12/6... would be interesting to hear a stack.

Per Passinwind's comment (and also Tom Bowlus), if you are on a budget, and looking to add a bit of aggressive grunt to your cab, the GK MB500 (or MBFusion500) is hard to beat for the price. Those heads have the wide voicing that makes the 15/6 cabs sing, nice volume for their power rating, and the ability to dial in what many call the GK grind for a bit of grit up top if you want it.

I believe GK is introducing an MB800 this year sometime (that company doesn't do a very good job of delivering on promised new product intro dates), but that would be really nice with the large, 8ohm 15/6.

I'd be shocked if you couldn't find a few tones you love with that head. For the apparent simplicity it has, it's got a fair amount of voicing options. I'd want to be running at 4 ogms for bigger gigs.

That's my guess.I've really grown to love that head.I think I'm going with 2 cabs to cover everything I'm doing,small to large.

Currently using an purple knob Avalon 737 into a Crown itech 4000 - sometimes switch the pre and use an Aguilar DB 680, sometimes use a VT Bass to chase the Ampeg tone dragon, but I keep coming back to straight through the 737... you just hear more through that thing, every thing else is starting to sound muddy by comparison.
