These things pop up here in the States once in a while, but regardless, they're definitely worth getting from Japan.I did not think so. Just seem to cost more. Sure 75th anniversary is a milestone, but I am just looking for a jazz. Preferably a deluxe
IS there anything special about the Fender 75th anniversary models?
I just got this Jazz 8 days ago...but I am just looking for a jazz. Preferably a deluxe
When you are shopping used, how much do you care about anniversary neck plates and stuff?
I never got tired of seeing that bass. These things pop up here in the States once in a while, but regardless, they're definitely worth getting from Japan.
I've wanted one for years, and finally found this last October...made me forget all about Fender.

Exactly!I never got tired of seeing that bass.
I have the Diamond Anniversary Jazz Bass and the quality, tone and feel are top notch. And yes they finished painting it.

I actually prefer them to the Player Plus basses, but I've always had a thing against the Fender preamps.Okay apparently some want to talk about the MIA version but I thought the OP was about the MIM? I'm only asking because the comparison would be apples to oranges. As a proud owner of the MIM 75th Anniversary P, I can tell you that the "special" factor for these basses are in the feel and sound of the bass. These models sit perfectly between the vintera and player series as far as quality and price. The pickups are true to what they claim as I truly get a 50s sound out of my P. These were also meant to be a leeway into the player plus series and to ease into price hikes. These really were great at the original price and IMO are just great all around, however, after the price hike I might prefer a vintera or player plus. If the aesthetics please you I would say jump on it as I consider mine to be one of my prettier finishes in my collection, and the only one I have with a matching headstock.
Here is my seafoam green family, and the only MIM is the P special. That Stratocaster is the only guitar I own.I actually prefer them to the Player Plus basses, but I've always had a thing against the Fender preamps.
I do like the Vintera, of course, especially the Sea Foam Green P bass, but I think they blew it with the Jazz versions.
Once upon a time the one on the bottom used to be my favorite bass. Here is my seafoam green family, and the only MIM is the P special. That Stratocaster is the only guitar I own.View attachment 4517977 View attachment 4517978 View attachment 4517979 View attachment 4517980
