Fender 75th Anniversary bass?

The color?

Unless you're talking about the USA-made ones...if so, not really

I did not think so. Just seem to cost more. Sure 75th anniversary is a milestone, but I am just looking for a jazz. Preferably a deluxe
These things pop up here in the States once in a while, but regardless, they're definitely worth getting from Japan.
I've wanted one for years, and finally found this last October...made me forget all about Fender.

I just got this Jazz 8 days ago

It was on sale for 649 when I got it but GC's website is now showing it back at it's normal retail price of 829.

It's a great bass for the money. Several of us TB'ers picked one up while they were on sell, and no complaints about the playability or the tone of the bass.

I have two MIMs and one American Performer. The MIMs are right there in quality with the Performer series. I would buy a MIM before getting another American Performer. Matter of fact if I wanted another American Fender it would be a Pro II series. The Performers just aren't worth the price jump from the MIMs.

I was wanting a Jazz, but without the costs of an American. Have never owned a Jazz before and didn't know how I would like it. Turns out I love it, and I couldn't have asked for a better deal on a bass.

they are unique and basically a money grab as a poster in another thread about the 60th anniversary J bass mentioned but, so what?

I picked up the 60th anniversary jazz after seeing it in a thread here a few weeks back and am digging it. While I think it's overpriced for what it is, its not terribly overpriced and its a bass thats easy on the eyes with the matching headstock in arctic white with the gold flakes.

I never got tired of seeing that bass.

I have the Diamond Anniversary Jazz Bass and the quality, tone and feel are top notch. And yes they finished painting it.

Okay apparently some want to talk about the MIA version but I thought the OP was about the MIM? I'm only asking because the comparison would be apples to oranges. As a proud owner of the MIM 75th Anniversary P, I can tell you that the "special" factor for these basses are in the feel and sound of the bass. These models sit perfectly between the vintera and player series as far as quality and price. The pickups are true to what they claim as I truly get a 50s sound out of my P. These were also meant to be a leeway into the player plus series and to ease into price hikes. These really were great at the original price and IMO are just great all around, however, after the price hike I might prefer a vintera or player plus. If the aesthetics please you I would say jump on it as I consider mine to be one of my prettier finishes in my collection, and the only one I have with a matching headstock.

I actually prefer them to the Player Plus basses, but I've always had a thing against the Fender preamps.
I do like the Vintera, of course, especially the Sea Foam Green P bass, but I think they blew it with the Jazz versions.

Here is my seafoam green family, and the only MIM is the P special. That Stratocaster is the only guitar I own.
