Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V 5 string

Ok... Great basses.. They need a new nut usually but that's a small thing.. It's not a horrible bass. Is that what you want? Ok, let's see the reply..

Are you now trying to start an argument with me? I already spoke my words about the bass, great bass but requires shielding from factory (like all Fenders.) The pre-amp is also a little noisy but I do not really play active basses (or 5 strings with gloss necks) which is part of the reason I sold mine.

No, I'm waiting for the usual aggressive nasty angry replies.. I actually was not referring to you.. However, you just kinda proved my point.. And somebody just awarded me "Can't Stop" award.. Don't know what that is..or who awarded it.. It could be a sarcastic thing idk.. I was looking at the "how to delete my account" area of this site when I got it.. If any of the moderators are keeping up with this please private me.. From my conversation with one of you last time you guys were completely understanding and on my side with all of the nonsense.. Open a private convo and we'll talk.. I'm just about gone and done..

I was actually going to ask you about the Carvin BX1600 since you're a Carvin guy.. I'm liking what I hear and see.. Looks like a great unit for a club rig.. But we seem to be crossways.. This is what happens when you have the non-stop arguer. And it's hard to argue when you're sitting and laughing about this in a room where the man in question is sitting!

So, someone resurrected a three-year-old thread last year, and it's managed to devolve into this? Good job, dudes...:rollno:

Since I have nothing positive to say about the Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V, I'll just head on back out of this debacle.

Carry on.
Aside from the brow beating.. If you read you'll see I had a very good reason for adding because of my experience with the J bass.. And how is this not supposed to anger me? This is the problem.. How much of that post had anything to do with the subject at hand? Great example of the problems I have with this site. It's not a site to talk positively about bass.. It's a site where arguing trumps substance.

I have only used the BX2000 and their DCML2000 power amp. From what I have experienced I really liked Carvin amps but I have no experience with their cabs. May I suggest starting a new thread to discuss the BX1600 and whether it would work for you or not, you probably will not get much of a response on the subject here.

EDIT: I liked them for their transparency, they seemed very clean and flat which is something I prefer.

Resurrection! I just STOLE a black american deluxe jazz v off ebay. Should be here next week. I'll report back what I find. I had one in burst and lament selling it. I only used it in passive but I'm willing to give it another go in active. LOVED the neck on my other. Can't wait to see the black inlay blocks up close and personal! Wish me luck.
