Fender American Pro Precision...Production change?

Hello. Forgive me if this has been covered. I haven't been able to find any similar threads here. I am strongly considering purchasing an American Pro P in the near future. My concern is that the 4 string, right hand model is no longer on the Fender website and inventory at my local Atlanta area stores seems to be running thin. Has there been any announcements about the model being reworked or has the current state of affairs caused production levels to drop? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Matt

Fender is still making right handed 4-string basses. Is that what you're asking? Kidding, sorry.

Sweetwater and GC have them in stock in multiple colors. I know because I'm about to pull the trigger and need to know what my local should be charging me.

Also, Fender has been periodically changing the series names of the same P and J basses since Johnny Appleseed planted the first maple neck tree. So if and when they stop making the American Professional Precision Bass you'll be able to match the same spec to whatever they name that series next.

And say hey to ATL. Bought my first Jazz Bass at Rhythm City (RIP) and met my wife at 688 (RIP) and am a lifer for the Falcons (also RIP).

People are talking about Fender discontinuing the American Professional Line. This doesn't mean it won't be any more an American P or J but quite the opposite. They might change the name to the series, change few stuff and raise the prices like last time. I'd rather wait a month or two just in case. Last time it happened four years ago many American Standard were on sale.

Fender American Professional series discontinued?
