Fender American Vintage '74 Jazz: Neck Question

soxhats: Did you wind up getting the '74?

I am sort of choosing between a '74 and a used '75 myself, and there's about a $900 difference. But I get flashbacks to original 1970s three-bolts' necks shifting that make me break out in hives. (That may have been at least in part because of the 1970s quality control.) The four-bolt neck and the greater choice of finish options is making me think I should bite the bullet and fork over the extra $900.
