fender/ampeg

im getting a fender rumblev3 200 watt with 15" speakers and using an ampeg svt210av as extention cab. i hope to get the tone right with this set up im playing classic rock small to med. venues what do you think besides hes nuts?

Mixing speaker sizes will rip a hole in the space/time continuum. There are multiple threads reviewing the possibilities.

Yeah (laughs)! But seriously, Craig, I cannot see an issue here. The 210AVs are (rated) 200 Watts at 8 Ohms. I take it your Rumble is also 8 Ohm, by default. Two 8-Ohm loads in parallel give you 4, more speaker, more headroom...sunrise, sunset...etc. I think the 210AVs sound really good paired with any head or combo that can drive it: I run a Rumble 350 head with mine.

Also, might have to move this thread to AMPS (BG); you'll get a lot more replies there than in Technique, and a lot more snarky, yet very entertaining comments.

You'll get more volume and more headroom. Or, your bass frequencies will be out of phase and cancel out and it will sound like poop on a stick. You never really know until you try. I would definitely not buy without trying it out first, though.

crap i was hoping not to hear that i wish i didnt have to travel 6 to 8 hrs. just to see if that combo sounds good well im gettin the fender for sure i wonder if the on line vender im buying from would go out to the showroom or where ever the gear is and plug it in but then again his ears not mine are what im going to depend on i wish i knew someone with this rig crap again
