Fender AV '62 P players: How's that neck?

I play in a cover band. We play "Panic Switch". I had a 62 AVRI and I have now a Jazz width CS Precision. That is the only song where I noticed the difference. The "stretch" on the AVRI was noticeable, but it made me more "disciplined" and tight even - it made my playing go from the sub-conscious to being very cognizant - just for a little while. That's how I would describe it - if that even makes sense...

THIS!!! I have a 2011 62 reissue and I love it for this very reason. It makes me play more cleanly because the stretch is there and you've got to accommodate for it. I find myself using the tips of my fingers more than the pads and I feel really fast on it now. I love a good j neck too though. My other bass is a stingray SLO special. That neck is super modern and really comfy too. But that 62 neck... There's something magic about it for sure. Sonofabitch sounds fantastic with some flats too.
