Fender Candy Cola

I saw Hot Tuna maybe 10-12 years ago, and one of the basses Jack played was a customized fretless Epi JC with a candy red over the normal gold top - similar idea, and man, did it look awesome under the lights!

"Holy thread resurrection, Batman!!" But since it's open again, here's one I used to have:

Hey, I've always liked the color but just what, exactly, made them come up with Candy Cola?
I mean, Cherry Cola, ok, but Candy Cola?

Candy has to do with the transparent color coat like on a candy apple (hence the name). Cola would be for the color.

Here's a link to a story about Joe Bailon, a car customizer and the inventor of Candy Apple Red and other candy colors. His inspiration for Candy Apple Red was car tailights.

No critic intended, believe me... I consider it one of the very best finish, if not the absolute best

I been close to buy a candy cola P bass but I was more or less €. 700,00 short than need
I love Fender but am also into Yamaha and you might know brief 2009 restyilin' of reknown Sheehan's Attitude limited II offered a so called "lavared" finish reminishent of 2008 and onward us std candy cola
I had two candy apple MIM jazz basses my turn: an active deluxe with dual noiseless and tortguard and a std with parchment and maple board

One of my biggest bass regrets is not buying one of these.
