I'm finally joining the club with a 1963 Journeyman Relic in aged Fiesta Red. Weighs in at 8lbs 4oz with Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners. The original tuners were quite difficult to move as Fender went a little overboard with the relicing process. For those interested, the pickguard is from AvantGuard. I guess it's the Jazz version of the Pino Precision.

If you stick a CS neck on a plain Fender body, how can you call it a Custom Shop bass? Aren't we diluting the goods? I may be splitting hairs.

What's up FCS Club? Just picked up this FCS Empire '58P from Empire Music. It is absolutely stellar. Great neck, very playable, 8lb and the pickup is really responsive. I think it may be one of the top two precisions I've ever played. Ridiculous!!

I saw this on the site a few days ago and really fell for it - other Violin Bursts they have sold have not grabbed me. This is a stellar find.
I called on it when I saw it. They gave me a nice discount so I nabbed it. It was here in a day. I'm so pumped to have it. It feels, looks and sounds very special. The very light relic looks much better to me than the heavier relics, on this color scheme.

Please look at official Fender Precision and Jazz bass clubs....
People post basses that Fender did not even put together...or have non Fender bodies or necks.....But people seem to enjoy and chat....and some of us want to pull our hair out!

Thanks for your comments. My thoughts were not aimed at anyone in particular. The composites reminded me of, I think, the Precision Bass Club that stated, "No Frankenbasses", and that almost no one here posts a picture of the CS logo on the back of the headstock anymore. Of course, it's fun to see composite basses, and I'm not necessarily saying they should be banned from the Custom Shop Club; I'm thinking there is another place for them. I'm also a Muscle Car guy, and I know there are some Ford clubs that won't allow cars with Chevy engines to be members. They are welcome at the shows, just not membership because there are plenty of other non-purist clubs for them.
I guess the fact that many seem to refuse to post a picture of the headstock logo is, and will continue to be, a pet peeve of mine. Probably knit picking, but I'm a stickler for rules sometimes.

My membership stands with my CS 59....and the previous basses I had and sold, but will occasionally post a picture of...to share for the enjoyment of others.

I would not have posted my two Franken Custom monsters, if not the conversation where @ZuluFoxtrot stated he was going to try such a thing and I said...ok...I too will have some fun.
