I was in a GC the other day and tried one of these out, and was very surprised at how good it sounded. Plus, a P with a Jazz neck, PJ and a halfway decent preamp. Anyone have one of these and want to chime in? Inexpensive GAS has struck.

I definitely found the neck very comfortable on that particular model, and it's not just because of the Jazz-style taper at the nut. I think it must have to do with shape of the backside of the neck as well and perhaps also the fingerboard radius.
I have a 96 model with a maple "baseball bat" p-neck. Later models featured the Jazz neck. It's an OK bass. I've changed the PUPS to Barts, changed the preamp to a Sadowsky. Been a fun project guitar. It's gets gigged on a regular basis, stays in tune, sounds good, works for the classic rock I play.

I just got one in a trade. Got it set-up and put some chromes on it, and I love love love it.
It's defiantly my back up bass.
If it was my main, I'd probably put a badass on it, and probably bart electronics in it.
But I'm loving the jazz neck and overall feel. It's lighter then other P's I've played.
And can I just say, noiseless pickups are my biggest turn on for this bass as-is.
I like it a lot. Not 100% perfect, but there's no real complaints from me about it.
For the price, it's a dream.
And, for the record, I've never been a fender.
