Fender Dimension V Wiring Help

Recently I acquired a Fender American Dimension 5 string HH, love the sound of the pickups but they could use a little help to tune out some of the harshness in the high mids. I purchased an Audere Classic 4- Band to help, but I want to add a couple DPDT switches for each humbucker to split the coils for optional tones.....the problem is the Fender pickups only have 3 conductors, hot north coil, hot south coil, and common ground.....how do I wire the switches? Any help is appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the coils are wired in parallel. Just disconnect/break the signal path on one coil and see how it sounds, as that should be single coil mode.
Get two on-on-on DPDT switches and wire up each pickup's hot wires like this, just sub north coil for neck and south coil for bridge on each. Then you get north single coil, both coils (stock sound) and south single coil.

The humbuckers are wired to allow different combinations of single coils. The in-between positions allow you to select the inside or side set of single coils from either pickup to give you a new humbucking position. That would suggest that everything runs parallel. I think this is a question that needs a definitive answer from the good folks at Fender. Having those pickups run in series would be a cool option and would calm down the high end a bit.

Thanks Bigtone23 that's what I was looking for, I wasn't sure if I needed an additional ground added to each switch.

This is exactly how I wired up my Jazz V HH

As mentioned earlier, the 5-way switch allows for Bridge Humbucker/outside coils/both humbuckers/inside coils/neck humbucker

Those functions are pretty much how I use my dual switches. Two switches also allows you to use both neck coils or both bridge coils, but the problem is that those combinations are of the same polarity and won’t hum-cancel, but the option is there.
I feel that a 2nd volume pot (one for each pickup) would be a nice option, allowing the use of one pickup in single coil mode if desired. You could do a stacked Vol/Vol so that you wouldn’t need to drill extra holes.

Worked out pretty well, and improved the sound significantly, taking the edge off the high mids was exactly what was needed to tame the pickups....thanks for the help on wiring the DPDT switches.

Nice color. I have an old Dean Z bass that turned out a similar color on accident but I really like it and it’s appropriate for that bass.

I didn’t realize that there was an Am. Std. with just VVT...I thought they all had preamps and 5-way switches. Makes sense that you wanted the toggle switches. But I now realize there was a Deluxe version...

From everything I read about the preamp in the Deluxe, I wasn't interested in the Deluxe (wanted the extra high mid control). I wanted the American Standard so I could add my own preamp, the coil switching is just a bonus. As you stated earlier, because they are already in the same polarity they don't hum cancel.....which is fine, because the outer coil on both pickups switched on and the humbucking both on sounds the best, and was what I was truly looking for.

On a side note, I noticed when I took the bridge pickup out and took it apart out of the casing I seen where you could solder new wires to each pickup coil for both negative and hot and actually match them into a standard DPDT switch operation and hum cancel them. Since I found what I wanted, I will leave it the way it is.

Hello everybody please I'd like to have some support for a wiring problem. I have an American standard and I'd like to add a push pull to split the humbuckers. I simply want the outer coils, or humbuckers (just to emulate a jazz bass).
So I think I will only need a single push pull, but the question is. How do I wire the cables??? Every suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you
