I knew I saw something about a redesigned preamp - found it on the Reverb announcement:

That doesn't mean it's true, but seems legit.

This video says that the preamp was redone with less wire, no noise.

How does it get here? I started out on a Tiesco del Rey Through the 70s and 80s, I wouldn't consider a Fender. The new US stuff is

I love Fender and it's all I play live but they must be smoking crack with the price of the new Elite series. I know some will disagree but I don't see it.

I'd have to play it to decide if it's worth it. A great bass may be worth 2k, but the only way to know is to play it. Plenty of basses cost more than that. I probably wouldn't buy it myself because Ibave the Fenders I want.
