Terrible upper-fret access, pretty much guaranteed to neck-dive like it's got a dumbbell hanging from the headstock, and to be honest I think it would just look cooler the "correct" way round. Sorry, but give me a deluxe 5-string jazz over that any day.

I think the upside down awkwardness is what makes it cool. I imagine the medium scale length was done to cut down on the dive. I think 32" scale is just fun to play, so this bass appeals to me.

Fender missed the boat here, though. Gibson doesn't get it, either. Basses like this should be required to have chrome pickup covers! The MM's spoil the look a little.

+1 the world needs a lot more shiny chrome, and less hate.

Though I think that guy had mercury or lead in his veins not hate seemed kinda crazy.

I'm not sure why, but I felt very compelled to use it after the but.

What I've never understood about grammar nazi's, was the inability to read with some common sense, like if the little apostrophes and periods and comas are even slightly misplaced, you guy's become completely incapable of reading anything, without incredible amounts of trouble.
Then, even though your not able to just simply apply some common sense, you come to post on how dumb the other person is. Is your reading ability really that dependent on those little marks?
(Oh my God his comas were misplaced, after the steam in my ears started to slow, my head exploded and I was left a complete useless mess on the floor.)
This is how I imagine you, after reading a poorly punctuated comment.
Or, is this just a case of someone's anal retentiveness being used to make others feel inferior to them?

Lighten up, it's really not that difficult to figure out what people are trying to say, regardless of punctuation.
But you are the face palm master, my guess is you spend a good deal of your time smacking your self about the face, while being floored by other peoples stupidity.
I understand I tend to shake my head when I notice other people that overreact and get all dramatic about simple little things, like grammar & punctuation on the internet. SMH now.

Guns are easy to get anywhere. Its not like we all run around with two six shooters on each hip.

For better or worse, gun loving is a part of TX's regional culture. Doesn't mean that all Texans are rootin' tootin', trigger-happy, card-carrying members of the NRA with shotguns in the rear windows of their pickups. Just that it's easier to get a gun there than many other states in the country.

I had seen you tell the other guy you were trying to just lighten things up so I was aware already.

My apologies, I mean I do think it's completely pointless to even attempt taking on the lack of perfect grammar and punctuation on the Internet.
Especially when in many cases people are just spitting out a quick thought while scrolling through stuff.
I can't count how many times I've gone back and read a comment I left only to realize my phone completely changed entire words like THR yeah that was typed as the, but for whatever reason my phone auto corrects it to THR.

HOWEVER, I think my comment was delivered in a much more rude Nannie <----(Manor) lol, than intended.

Please by all means, correct away. In all reality I actually benefit when my stuff is corrected, if it was an honest mistake and not THR phones fault, I want to know for future reference.

This is either a very effective troll thread....or a very oblivious young adult who doesn't understand the value of variety. I can't really think of any basses or companies that I "hate"...but I do think that Gibson basses are lackluster for the price they ask (as with Rics, even though I love the Ric tone) and that the necks on MM basses are uncomfortable for me in most cases.

I had an "I hate Fender" phase because the guitarist in my band was like that and I was just starting as a bassist and took his word for it. I sat down and played a Fender 60's neck J-bass at Guitar Center one day and thought to myself, "That guitarist can go screw himself...this bass is amazing!" YMMV, but now he is GASing for a 60's strat...people's taste can change

Ahh I hate to tell you this but $425 in 1972 would be over $2200 today. A new MIA is around $1200 and is a much better bass then a 72 CBS

The Bass I was referring to that cost $425 was the J bass bought in 1987. The Musicmaster was $80 in 1972 (I was only 12 at the time). I also bought a Pre-CBS Precision in 1980 for about $325 (a great deal). While the other two basses were regretfully ripped off by scumbags, I still have and enjoy the Maple Jazz Bass, made in 74/75 in Fullerton, and it sounds great! I suppose you're going to tell me my brother paid too much when he bought that Cherry Red 1966 Guild Starfire (with the whammy bar!) in 1971 for $45 (he left it to me, and it plays beautifully).
