fender heartfeild

FWIW:

I suppose this may be a cardinal sin but seems appropriate regardless given there's probably been more discussion about the Fender/Heartfield in this post than probably the rest combined.

But I've got a 4 string set of pups and pre complete from a Propehcy III. I have more pups than I can make use of and I don't use onboard preamps, so if anybody has use for them in a project they may as well go to work as sit idle.

I have a 5-string bolt-on Heartfield that I love to death, but it took some work for me to get it that way. I replaced the stock preamp with a Basslines pre because, no matter how hard i tried, i could NEVER get a tone I liked from the stock. It had a mid-sweep knob on it that gave it a variety of bizarre tones that were essentially useless to me.

I love the thing to death now and it is actually my main recording bass - I love the sound of it direct (and live as well). If you want to hear the sound of one, you can check out the first two recordings on my band's Link Removed page (this is not a plug - it'll just give you an idea of the tone of my Heartfield run through the Eden setting on my Line 6 Bass pod).

And woever said the neck is like butter was right on - that is a THIN neck front to back, but nice and W I D E, top to bottom, the perfect recipe for my tastes.
