Fender Highway One Jazz - what to do

As you could imagine; trying to sell a bass in the islands is pretty rough. Just not enough interest. I'd probably turn old and grey if I tried to sell it locally on consignment.
Anyway I may resort to parting it out - is this the right thing to do? From what I've seen in the Accessories threads bodies, necks and gears seem to move pretty well and shipping would definitely be cheaper. I just hate to go this route since it's such a nice bass olympic white with tort PG. Plus to sell it here that'll be another 30 bucks. OT but does anyone know why this site charges to sell stuff? Seems to be a ton of ads in the side columns as I'm typing this. Cheers

FWIW ... they do not charge to 'sell stuff' .. they charge to be a member, and members are ALLOWED to sell stuff ... a charge that comes around once a year, and I cant wait to get my payment off and help to keep it going strong ... between the knowledge this site has afforded me over the last several years, and the money it has saved me on buying/selling gear and paying fees on other sites, that measley cost of membership is less than a mediocre meal out at an overpriced restaraunt, which would probably give me heartburn an hour later ... IMHO, its the best value going to put you in touch on a personal basis with some of the most informed minds out there, not only in the bass world, but the entire music world ... come on in ... the waters fine :)
