Good call. I have a custom Bongo 5-string fretless, and it is great. BUT... I have been playing Jaguars and it looks like I am going for a custom Jaguar to accompany the Bongo. Both instruments have great playability and tone flexibility. Also, the Bongo has the quietest pickups of all my basses. All the other basses buzz like crazy in my area. Good luck!

Is the Bongo neck as big as a Stingray? With my scrawny hands I find a Stingray neck far too big to tackle. A hell of a stretch! In that case I'd probably have no choice but to go for the Jaguar. Still I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me about the Bongo neck size because I've been thinking about buying a Jaguar but having read all the posts here in favour of the Bongo, I might just do that myself if the Bongo neck is smaller than the Stingray.

How can you have a custom bongo?

I had my local GC guy make a call Ernie Ball to see if it was possible. Since it was, I had them make me a 5-string fretless Bongo, with rosewood fretboard, 2 HH pickups (with the Piezo bridge), in "Wine Red" matched from an Ibanez.

Since mine is fretless, I don't know how it relates to a Stingray.

I thought EBMM did not make any custom bass unles it was for one of their endorsers.
