I have a shop bringing in a red Fender Jaguar for me to try out. I love the shape and have heard a lot of good things about them.

I owned one for a while. Very nice basses. The retro look is very cool. The neck is like a nice jazz neck, very similar to a Geddy Lee Jazz. It's nice and thin, but not TOO thin. It's shaped comfortably. The bass, with all the different controls, is extremely versatile. The only complaint at all I had about the bass is there is very little taper on the bass and treble controls when the bass is in active mode. It's almost like an "on/off" proposition. When you turned either tone up about 1/4, it sounded almost the same as if it were turned all the way up. I have a feeling some replacement pots may have cured this ill. All and all, the jag is well worth the money and definitely one of the cooler things Fender has done lately.

I played a few in shops & was favorably impressed. I play mostly reggae & dub & was able to get a great warm sound instantly. Good deal for the money IMHO.

The switches and knobs confused me initially, but once you figure them out the tonal capabilities are pretty good.

I really liked the playability as the neck reminded me of my Geddy Lee Jazz.

I just wish more colours were available.

I'm actually not crazy about the looks but the tones and the feel are great. Took a bit to get used to the pencil thin neck but it's all good.
