Most probably alder, unless tuners and bridge were modded. Basswood ones came with non-threaded saddles and smaller tuners.

    Whats the weight?
Light ones usually have Basswood bodies.

How does it sound? That would be more important o me than what type of wood it's made of.

A while ago, I owned a CIJ RI62 Jazz in 3T sunburst, red tort, non-threaded barrel saddles, hex metric gauge saddle screws, thin and slanted ground stripe, vintage thin frets, etc, numbered V034631 (I have never found which year that number was for), and IMHO the body was basswood (thumb rest and F plate added).
The tuners are very different from OP's bass; no hootenanny button.
The only good part on that bass was the neck (actually as good as on my AVRI '62 Jazz).
