Thats because he is using an after market pickguard, the original was plain white.Have you noticed Watcha's bass has the thumb-rest above the strings?
To me, this model constitutes the big tease, and is the source of my never-ending frustration with Fender. If they made these a little more available, with 4 or 5 color options, I think a LOT of players and collectors alike would be all over it. I sure would.
Yup, this is the one. Highly coveted by Jazz freaks, hard to find. It came out in three colors I think, I remember a blue, a black, and possibly a white.

I still regret selling it, but it was 5 years ago during a shortage of money period. I had to sadly sell it and a wal. What a bass it was! I look around sometimes in used bass website if something pops up. Mine was serial 00021 by the wayThe rarest colour would be Sonic Blue. I got these pics off TB a couple of years ago from an Italian owner. Sorry for not crediting, but I forgot his TB nick.
