Fender Jazz Bass 73 with dots and binding...?

Just came across this auction and I wonder what do we have here. Serial number seems to be 73, BUT neck has dots and binding. Logo also fits 73, so this can't be swapped from let's say 66, which looks different. Also the strap button is placed in a quite unusual place, without markings of being moved from the "proper" position. On the other hand, this strap button looks to be placed exactly like on Greco or Tokai Jazz Bass copies. Am I missing something?

When there are more questions than confirmations... vintage Fender guitars & basses have commonly been targeted with attempts to cash in on what an authentic vintage Fender bass (in this case) has escalated monetarily to today. There's more than enough legit information available to confirm authenticity so someone's potentially illicit attempts can easily be called out. I can't read the copy, but the only other excuse would be to list/include every anomaly.

It might be a 1973 Jazz. But that fretboard is not original because dots & binding 73 Jazzes don't exist. A replacement fretboard is usually indicative of previous neck issues. I know you're not looking to buy it, but: RUN
