Since this is brand new, I can't see them jacking up the price another hundred or two when they raise their prices.Hmm…$1,300 for MIM? It’s a beautiful bass, but not that beautiful.

Can confirm the GFS surface mount gold foil sounds great on bass.
The jazz bass should have had two of these pickups and they should have come out with a mustang with one pickup.

Very interested in this, the demo sounds cool too. It's probably not something I'm gonna buy blind (want to get a feel for that neck binding first), but I'll always support Fender experiments like this one and the Pawn Shop series in the past.
If it means anything, I absolutely loved the way it felt (so much so that I ended up buying it). I've always loved the P bass sound but found most P bass necks to be too clunky, but not unworkable. This Jazz goldfoil is the perfect solution- mostly P bass sounds, but with the feel of a jazz neck.
I wish they’d do something like the pawn shop series again. I guess that’s what the parallel universe series is but the pawn shop series felt a little cooler.
Personally I’d be worried about single coil hum. I don’t understand why they only put one pickup on it.

Also the neck pocket looks terrible in Thomanns photos so i'm already weary of the build quality and QC.

2TSB! Can’t say I’m a fan of the one piece white PG or white Strat knobs. Reminiscent of the pickguard and knobs Fender put on the J bass back in the 80s

A rushed assembly/photo shoot for pre orders maybe but still $1300 for MIM?
Please tell me you don't need to remove the pickguard or (god forbid) the neck to adjust the truss rod....

I’m of the school that Fender decides. I’m not totally calling this a Jazz but they get some leeway. It looks cool.Very beautifulbut is this really a Jazz Bass though? What makes a jazz bass jazz bass? 2 pickups in correct placement is a must imho.

Agreed. The goldfoil looks better with the blue. Also I like the blue better.
