Fender Jazz Identification.

Hi all I am trying to identify my MIA Fender Jazz Standard which I purchased new in 2009. It has a small diamond emblem on the rear of the headstock, it has a S1 switch (parrallel /series selection) string through body. Some say it is an anniversary model but i cant find any positive information

According to Fender's serial number lookup tool the model name seems to be a "American Jazz Bass 2003-2008 model", no special edition or anything by the look of it.

You can get all the details if you search here with the serial number: Serial Number Lookup
This link shows many great details about this bass, unfortunately it excludes mentioning the diamond emblem on the back of the headstock and what it resembles. Ive noticed that the Diamond anniversay model has this but that model also includes lettering on the front of the headstock. So is this some sort of special model i have or would it be a case of at the factory the just picked a body off one shelf and then a neck from another and through it all together. 😁

on most of Fender's anniversaries they put emblems or badges or something on the nameplate to celebrate. These models usually aren't special in other ways or have any increased value, just a way for them to mark the anniversaries. They do this on the Squire models sometimes too.
Yep this is correct. The OP has a 2006 American Jazz bass. I think all the guitars that year got the little anniversary badge

This is an American Series Jazz, they dropped the "Standard" from the name and added "Series" in 2000. These were on the market until 2007 or 2008. They aren't much different than the American Standard that came before it, other than the S1 switch. When they went back to the American Standard name in 07-08, they removed the S1 switch (which a lot of people were doing in the first place) and replaced the pickups with CS 60's.

As others have said, the badge was common on anniversary years.
