hello? he is asking for pros and cons? and no one is answering him? lol you guys are the troll.
I am not comparing tones because they are very subjective and i figured design of the bass is more explain-able
My opinion,
stingray
Pros,
-single humbucker, easier to slap because no pickup at the front.
-the truss rod adjustment is so much easier because in stingray it is the rotating truss rod (check out the stingray)
-3 band eq, make it very versatile.
-thick neck (p-bass like) for bigger hands
-single volume knob helps to control your volume without volume pedal.
-no single pickup hum because of the humbucker design
-centered detent preamp knob, help you to know where flat is
Cons
-single humbucker, tone is limited to that single humbucker but the 3 band eq is used to compensate that.
-pbass like neck, most people prefer jazz type neck(not me i prefer pbass)
For Jazz bass
Pros
-Small fast neck
-2 pickup design with 2V1T help you achieve tons of sound
-graphite supported neck, lesser neck movement? no experience with that.
Cons
-single coil pickup Hum Hum Hum when pickup is soloed- you can get single coil humcancelling but you need to upgrade the pickup
-small neck (some people hate it)
-2 V control means you cant adjust the overall volume without changing the overall tone
NOTE- I am comparing fender standard jazz 2012 vs Stingray 2012 (not classic version)
BTW my jazz bass is 5 string, which wider neck i prefered haha
