Black and Gold done right is a fairly 'can't miss' color scheme, and this is. Just to be too picky, this would have looked even better with a black ebony fingerboard. One more argument for matching headstocks, it ties the look together SO much better.

To match the strings. Fender doesn’t make a set of gold strings.

Interesting how fender is selling a new MIJ P bass for more or less what they tend to go for used on this site. I wonder if this might push the used prices down a bit on some of them. Its also interesting how it is priced right in the middle of the MIM price range. Perhaps Fender wants to get away from the notion of MIJ>MIM.

Whatever the actual difference in quality, many players will likely assume the average MIJ bass is going to be better than the MIM bass.
Interesting that there are no specs listed, so we don't know important details like neck radius. I mean if I had to guess, I'd say 9.5" but you never know....
