Fender Made in Japan!

It has been taken off from Fender web-site.
*** is going on. It's available in Europe!
Look for the model number: 5564600306.
I had an old link and it says: not in stock anymore....
Well, optimist that I am is going to take it as a positive. I can select notify me when in stock. I selected the choice and received a response that they’ll notify me when back in stock. I’m hoping there was such a positive demand that there’ll be more runs of it and an expansion of bass offerings in the future. After all, the primary business is selling instruments.

Here is official word:
Dealer is going to have either - limited run or special order.
Nobody knows for sure.
Fender does not allow orders (yet) from their dealers.
When something pops up, they will let me know.
As about now, buy it from Japan or Europe, or wait.

I have seen a number of these recent MIJ Strats and Teles at a local store. They’re really nice (including a 12-string Strat, and a mahogany offset Tele).

Anyway the local dealer said Fender occasionally does these MIJ limited run releases and they just kinda pop up. I asked at that time (about two months ago) whether any basses were coming and they didn’t know.

Now some are here!

Also, what’s released in the US and in Europe might differ, according to a Guitar Nerds podcast episode when the guitars came out (they’re in England).

Thanks for spotting this, OP

That gold-basswood is not of my taste, don't like gold hardware neither basswood, but the other "traditionals" and "hybrids" are really nice!! I own the 2006 version of the 70's (PB70-US) and it's a lovely bass. The only visual difference is the honey-tinted laquer in the old japanese model vs the natural maple of the new ones.
