Fender MB

Hey there! I'm looking for info on an old Fender bass. I THINK it's called an "MB-4" and was made in Japan quite a few years ago.

I need to know how much one of them would be worth today, as I might buy one from my old high school band director.

Squire makes a replica MB bass today that sells for around 200 bucks:

I basically need to know how much to offer him - knowing the value of old Fender basses, it could be worth anywhere from 50 bucks to 2 grand.
