Fender MGT-4 Footswitch w Looper

I just got a MGT-4 footswitch for my Fender Rumble Studio 40 amplifier (thank you Santa Claus!) and while I already have a TC Electronic Ditto X2 looper, the MGT-4 also provides looping functionality (which is apparently built into the amp, not the pedal per se).

And while it has the usual features of record/overdub, stop/play, and undo, it does not appear to have a "clear loop" function I can find, either by messing about or (weird, I know) "reading the manual." Undo only works for the last dub, so if there's more than one layer, you're stuck with all but the last one.

Any help with clearing/erasing the initial loop using this thing?

Thing is "record a new loop" is the same as "overdub." So a new dub of silence would leave the earlier loops intact.

The manual says, "To initiate a new looping session, from STOP mode simply step on the “REC” button (FUNCTION button 1)." [emphasis added]

I'm sure you know that Function button 2, Play/Stop, gets you to Stop mode with STP on display.

HTH

. . . . . The FRS40 ... has its own effects loop (which ironically is where I keep the looper pedal). I have not yet used the USB control port.

The manual says, "To initiate a new looping session, from STOP mode simply step on the “REC” button (FUNCTION button 1)." [emphasis added] ...

Yeah, I saw that. But by "new" they mean "new overdub," not "start over fresh."

I could be wrong but, I believe the MGT-4 footswitch is supposed to plug into the "footswitch" jack, not the FX loop. Maybe, then the "new looping session" will mean what it says?

Else, please, come ask the Fender Rumble Club.
