Fender Modern Player V J Bass preamp install

I have a Fender Modern Player Jazz (V string) that I really like; it has a 4 position knob which allows the player to choose from 4 different tone settings; I actually only use one of them, the other 3 are pretty much useless ... (to me anyway). I'm really considering dropping in an Audere JZ3 Pro preamp that I already have just laying around; I'm thinking it'll give me more useful tonal options; I just don't understand the wiring on the pickups, I believe there's 4 leads on each pickup but I'm not sure which is hot, ground etc.. Does/Has anyone have/had a Modern Player Jazz and dropped in an on board preamp? Was it easy/simple enough? Was it worth it. ... the photo is not my Bass, but it's this exact model, color combo and all, Thanks

I cannot answer your question.
But I love your bass...very cool.
I used to have a Fender Roscoe Beck 5ver
coils could be split to make 2 single coils...jazz bass mode
my fav mode
but each pickup could also be used in humbucker mode too

Just read this about the Modern Player

Just remember the grounding scheme with Audere is different. You might want to contact Audere and ask your questions.

Get the regular Audere Jazz Plate.... You'll be amazed.
