I'm thinking about modding the electronics on one of my PJ Mustang basses.
I'm going to install DiMarzio DP126 pickups and thought I'd might as well change up the switching and pots as well. I'll probably just replace the switch for a better one and keep the P only P+J and J only switching, but I'm confused about the rest.
Would I be better off with VTVT, VVT, VBT?

Finally got these two together after 8 moths of travelling with the Squier.
Still have to get the JMJ from my US address so I can properly compare and pick a keeper. It’s probably the pawn shop though assuming I never have to play anything subtle with it.

2023 JMJ…love on the first sightI promised myself not to buy any new guitar anymore, since we live in a small apt and there is no space..one afternoon I visited local music shop and after 5 minutes went away with this amazing cool looking inspirational bass

I am happy to find and be part of this forum I am from Prague, Czech Republic and playing a guitar in a band since 1996 and then since 2010 started to play/record bass in my songs as an amateur musician. I went through MIM Precision, MIA Jazzbass to Hofner Ingnition (my first sort-scale) and then in 2019 (by coincidence) tried JMJ in one shop in one musicshop in Frankfurt and was amazed. What does reliced custom shop Fender bass in <$1000 area? It was like somebody forgotten to return an multi-thousand instrument back home Then i saw MIM serial number and realized it was probably a new Roadworn series instrument.. It was that moment when you know it's THE instrument for you from the first few seconds of playing, like and old love, but I already had MIA JB and it was prior my first short-scale Hofner, so I didn't bought it... However, last month i made that trip to a biggest local store here, they had like 15% discount and even the instrument setup was very off (high strings, intonation not properly adjusted) I immediatelly knew, that JMJ (short-scale, flatwounds, roadworn, modern pickup) is my bass...Once you fall in love with short-scale, Mustang i only a hair away...

I use DR Hi Beams. Work great for me on the JMJ. Other people seem to like D’Addario XL strings.
