Fender necks into Fender bodies...?

Hey guys and gals! I've decided that I want a specific Fender P body to accompany a really nice (my favourite) Fender neck that I have. But, before I buy this body, I want to know if any Fender neck will fit into any Fender body (strictly basses, of course). And if not, how do I know if my neck will fit into this body?

Specifically, the neck that I have is a Duff Mckagan Sig neck, and the body that I want to buy is a Roger Waters Sig body. They're both MIM, which I'm guessing is a good sign. But I really have no idea how to tell if the Duff neck will fit into the Roger body.

Important neck specs for the Duff neck:
Neck Shape: Modern "C"
Scale Length:
34" (864 mm)
Fingerboard Radius:
9.5" (241 mm)
Number of Frets:
20
Fret Size:
Medium Jumbo
Nut Width:
1.625" (41.3 mm)
Truss Rod Nut:
3/16" Hex Adjustment

And for the Roger neck:
Neck Shape: Thick "C"
Scale Length:
34" (864 mm)
Fingerboard Radius:
9.5" (241 mm)
Number of Frets:
20
Fret Size:
Medium Jumbo
Nut Width:
1.75" (44.45 mm)
Truss Rod Nut:
Vintage-Style Slotted

So I don't think the Thick C vs Modern C neck shape makes a difference... I believe it's all in the neck pocket, right? The only differences after that, are the nut width and the truss rod nut. I don't know, but I would think that the fingerboard radius is how you would tell if the neck will fit. In this case, they're the same.

I'm probably wrong about this though... can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks!

That's going to look sick by the way.
Ikr! I love the Duff neck and I wanted something that was literally all black to go with it. I hate B/W/B pickguards because they look cheap with the white in the middle like that IMO. The Roger body has a 1 piece black pickguard that almost blends in with the body. I also noticed that the Roger has the same hardware on the body as the Duff body, which will match really well with the Duff neck. btw Thanks for the input, I appreciate it!

I know my Japanese jazz has a three bolt neck. If you can get the specs of the neck bolt placement on the body and the neck, that could help. I'm thinking mms apart horizontally and vertically.
They're both 4 bolt necks. I left that out of the neck specs in my original post because, honestly, I didn't think that was important. But, again, they're both 4 bolts.

I can offer this - I mated a USA 1991 Fender JP-90 neck to a Chinese Squier Affinity Precision body, and the two fit like they were cut from the same plank.

Like others have said, many parts are interchangeable, but should be researched as a "just in case". For the record, the most-problematic Fender instruments I've personally had to deal with are the discontinued Squier Standards. Modding them is a royale-with-cheese-pain-in-the-@$$!

Up until they were abandoned back in 2008-2009, they had wandered off the standardized Fender "footprint". Not in any obvious way, but in a number of tiny, subtle ways that only became apparent once you started modding…or perhaps, "attempted to start" would be a better term. I've had three different mods halted just when the process got underway! :rage:

Good luck, Devin! Please post some pics, here and in the "I Like Black Basses" thread. I wanna know if that near-total blackout makes me feel like I'm staring down an event horizon! :D

Thanks Malak! I think you and I seem to get along very well. We have similar opinions IMO.
