That's awesome! I studied in Bonn back in 2003, but it was for German Art, Literature, and Architecture. Enjoy that fantastic city, and definitely hit up the unimaginatively named Music Store in Koeln just up the river a bit. It's huge and full of a great selection of gear and a professional staff.
