Fender or Squire fender?

Hi can anyone tell me the difference between a Fender Squire P bass and a Fender P bass? Also what the difference between a P bass and Jass bass is in relation to sound? Im new to bass playing and want to find whats best suits me. Thank you

Its squier. And squier is simply a cheaper made fender design made off shore, now mostly in china and indonesia.They can be very good sounding basses despite the brand being seen as "budget" in recent years quality has went way up.

Fenders are actually made by Fender. Squiers are produced by other companies contracted by Fender to do so, they keep the same basic appearance and personality of a Fender but are sold at a much less expensive price point.

Jazz Basses, in general, have a wide variety of sounds, from a mid-range growl, to a very thumpy low end, than a P, which has one sound: A low-end thump.

I played a Jazz, the tried a Stingray, then bought a P, and I put the order on a Jazz late last week.

Jazz bases tend to balance better because the offset, and thus heavier body blances the neck better, which is much easier to play if you have small hands.

if you're a newbie, look hard at Squier. they are damn good guitars and the price range is much better. a MIM Fender is comparable to a Squier if you can get it used. both are in the $250-300 range. Fenders should have a bit higher quality stock parts, but you can jump up into the $1-3K range, and i would argue it isn't worth it. i like my MIM Squier more than my MIM P.

the nicest bass i have ever played was a squier sonic blue classic vibe p bass, the worst bass i have ever played was squier black affinity series p bass, so i guess you never can tell, my usa fender and mij fender are both great but were priced 2 to 3 x what a squier would be
