fender p-bass/j-bass pickups

Hi im thinking about buying a fender blacktop p-bass or a j-bass. I like both and their both the same price "about $500" but im not sure which is better pick up wise. The p-bass has Blacktop Bass Humbucking Pickup (Bridge) and Blacktop Bass Humbucking Pickup (Neck). The j-bass has Blacktop Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Pickup (Bridge) and Blacktop Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Pickup (Neck). Suggestions????

No complaints on my Blacktop P - the humbuckers sound great, blended or soloed.

Really a matter of personal preference! However, I just want to point out that the P(neck) J (bridge) pickup configuration has been far more popular over the years....perhaps for a reason!

are the double jazz bass humbucker bridge pickups wired to split the pickups?
i'd like to add one to my 60' style jazz bass to get the 60's rear solo pickup sound and 70's slap neck /bridge sound.

I've not played either but I love the pickup concept of both basses.

The pickup positions for the 60s and the 70s overlap by half a pickup width, so it's practically impossible to have one and the other.
