Fender P-bass Nat/maple

Check Fender's website for the current finish/neck combos available--I don't think they have Natural MIAs at all.

I do know that Fender Japan makes one or two. Look here:

Order from Ishibashi and get a MIJ/CIJ model. They are quality instruments and importing them in to Canada is affordable, plus you get what you want with out going to the Custom Shop.
+1. Order from ishibashi.com or the site above. Even with shipping, it'll be a good bit cheaper than a new MIA P bass. Although I don't own any, Fender Japan's basses get a lot of praise around here.

speaking of which i had recently placed an order with the excellent guys at ishibashi web shop and this bass should arrive next thursday or so. thats japan to scotland.

im a guitar player for many years and would like to add bass to my skills as i have great appreciation for solid basslines.

i cant wait! (but i have to) :hyper:

They bring out natural models from time to time as they change available colors like car companies. Here's my '99 P-bass Deluxe in natural with maple. She's a "keeper"!

Fender Japan has some cool stuff but this is kind of my dream bass. I feel like I'm compromising if I go with Fender Japan. I'll wait to find one used or Fender puts out new ones.

I just picked up a '73 Precision in Natural/Maple. It's got a white pickguard and the ashtrays are still in place. I paid about the same amount as you'd be charged for this:

I also own a 2006 MIA Precision in butterscotch/rosewood. I really like the rolled fingerboard edges and the satin finish on the neck of the new bass, but that '73 has mojo and tone in spades.

I'm really digging the maple neck/natural body Precisions. I've been looking for one for a while but they aren't the easiest to track down.

Any problems or issues with ordering from one of these Japanese sites? They aren't the easiest to navigate. Any recommendations or advice about ordering?
