Fender P Help

I'm not to up on the vintage Fender info., but this bass has caught my eye. Does is look straight for an all original 1970 bass?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Looks pretty legitimate to me! Either way, looks pretty sweet.

That being said, I know nothing about vintage Fenders.

Looks essentially identical to my '68.

All the details are correct for 1970/71. The pickup will have a date stamp as well, and are usually far closer to build date accurate than using the pots (especially since the neck stamp is faded away).

But what an awesome lookin' bass!

looks legit, beautiful bass. looks like some fool carelessly cranked on the trussrod more than a few times with the wrong screwdriver though.

Thanks for the help. I noticed the truss screw, but the seller says it works fine and has adjustment left in it. I also noticed that the saddle screws look a little, well, screwy.

Looks pretty legit to me as well. One thing, if you do buy it, make sure you push that E intonation screw flush to the bridge, shouldn't be sticking out like that.

Beautiful bass. As mentioned earlier. I would ask about the E string bridge saddle. What would be the purpose of having it set so far back unless, that is how far back it needed to be to intonate the E string? It shouldn't need to be that far back.

It looks like it got pushed back and then tuned up.. seems to be accidental, I would think. Probably wondering why its not in tune

Thats definitely happened to me before, never on that style bridge, but i've seen it happen.
