hi iam a lead guitar player playing bass now out of need in our church and the little band iam playing in, i do not know a thing about bass equipment. my amps are a swr working man combo 15 and a carvin br615. but my sweet sweet wife with out me knowing bless me with a usa fender pbass with s1 switching they called it. i love the bass, but my question is she bought this bass from a person in our church and its in perfect condition no scatches are anything looks like it was never used. it came with a hard shell case nice, she gave 500 bucks for it did she get burn what is it worth, i really like it but would like to know the value. thank you all

That's about $100-$150 under the market price for a newer US Precision in Austin.
She did good, be proud.

I paid that much for one that was pretty beat up and wouldn't intonate properly, so I'd say she did a darned fine job.

what is the s1 switching all about

Switches the pickups from series to parallel. Its kinda useless on a P and it works better on a Jazz.
