THanks for the report ! does your bass have a serial number that begins with an i (1989) ?The TV logo means it is indeed a PB-70. It’s fairly uncommon to see one in sunburst, oly white with a black guard is most common. I have one in white and it has a slim B neck (1 5/8” nut) like an early 1970s P. Fender Japan did a great job as usual with fit and finish, it plays and feels great. Sets up very well and is extremely stable. I don’t recall ever having to adjust it in the last 10 or so years I’ve had it. Where I find mine lacking a bit is in the electronics. The pickup isn’t the best sounding, it’s low end is a bit weak, but that can be remedied and it might just be my copy. It definitely has great mids and highs though. These are great basses that have been very overlooked, IMO, but I think people are starting to catch on. Enjoy your’s!
yes, the bass have the strap button on the back of the headstockDoes it have the strap button on the back of the headstock? Either Fender Japan used the same parts for different basses (unlikely since there are some specs like nut width that should be different) or someone replaced the logo. OR it was some sort of special run at the time. Fender Japan has always had a bunch of oddities.
