Fender Performer Bass (mid 80s MIJ) Wiring

Hello everyone,
I just bought a vintage Fender Performer Bass which produced in mid 80s, MIJ.
As far as I know it is a bit rare so I wish to see if any fellow TBers own one could give me some help.

The bass itself is in pretty good shape, except I found that it seems not in the original wiring.
The original wiring should have a “Vol - Tone - TBX circuit” with a 3 way pickup selector.
On my bass, I believe I am having something like “Vol - Vol - TBX circuit (but not working as I hear no tonal changes at all)”.

Please check the pictures attached. I am not good at any modification and with very limited knowledge on how the pots being wired. By checking some standard wiring diagram it looks like the 2 single coil pickups are wired to 2 Vol pots, which should not be like that.
Also I suppose the Tone pot has a cap attached?

If someone own the same bass here, may you do me a favour and show me how is your bass wired? I cannot find any legit information in the web.

Much appreciated!

I have a bass like that, and, this gonna sound weird, but I just remembered I had it. So I got it out last night and it didn't work. So today I checked into it and it was o loose hot wire going to the output jack. So I resoldered it and it now works However it seems to work exactly like yours, volume, volume, TBX, which, like yours, doesn't work. The wiring at the output jack doesn't look original so I will be taking the pickguard off later to check. More later hopefully

Guys, that's really funny.
I just got one as well and the controls seem also to be vol neck/vol bridge/tbx.
Note that with the switch in the middle position, if one volume is zero, both pickups are mute, the TBX is also not really effective so far.
I found this (amazing) collection of bass schematics, which suggests the performer had vol/tone/tbx (page 67): http://www.ak-line.com/medium/Bassschaltungen.pdf

The fact that we have here three instruments with similar vol/vol/tbx controls is maybe not just a coincidence. Either this was a popular mod in the 80s/90s or could it be that indeed some instruments were manufactured with another wiring diagram, which was later upgraded?
I'll have a look at the electronics as soon as I find time to see if it looks modded or if there is a faulty connection and come back with more information.

Did you find anything more on that topic since then?
