Another Tony Franklin P/J fan...a fabulous bass but not easy to find.

There's one for sale in the classifieds right now. It has a vol/vol/tone mod (which I think is better b/c you have the ability to blend the pickups instead of having them both controlled by one volume pot.

Have to respectfully disagree...I've had both setups, the other bass was a 2000 Hot Rod Precision with the VVT setup.
For me, the 3-way switch gives quick access to three very distinct and very useful tones without having to mess with blending two volume knobs to get "that" sound.
I do agree that the knobs provide "infinite adjustment" which is OK in a studio situation but not so great on stage.
Again, just my humble opinion. If you prefer the knobs, that's cool. If we all liked the same thing, it would be a boring world. I also prefer brunettes over blondes and would rather have a Porsche than a Corvette.![]()
