Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

Eh so what, that's just to get a club number. Post the pics for fun, it's still vintage whether or not it's pre-CBS!

I posted pictures earlier in this thread, then for a couple posts others started posting "non pre-CBS's".
But here are a couple.
This is how I got it.
After some MAJOR work from Kevin Caton at Caton Guitars In Chicago, This is what she looks like now.
Just a note or two. Candy Apple Red nitro refinish. New reverse style tuners, new nut, refret and some minor rewiring.
This is a top 5 basses in the 50-60 basses I've owned, and a keeper. Kevin is the shop manager at Lakland Basses, but builds his own guitars
Wow, that CAR refin with the tort guard is amazing. What is the working definition for "pre-CBS" for this club? I just think in terms of up to 1964 as pre and 1965 and afterwards CBS. Who owns Fender now anyway, the employees? I went for the factory tour a few months ago, which I highly recommend.

LPB was not original. It was a nitro refin, and a terrible one at that. This bass had a butload of issues. But I got a good price on it, so I'm not complaining too much.
Only things original are the body, neck, pickguard, and the pickup is up for debate.

It's not my first pre-CBS Fender, but it's the best bass I've ever played in my life! I got it a few weeks ago.

1962 Jazz Bass, Gruhn's wasn't 100% sure on finish. Original owner just recalls really wanting it pink. I tend to hope for original, but know deep down 
it's probably just a quality refin, based on what I've discussed with his daughter since obtaining it two years ago.
(Still talk with her, & occasionally get new stories of her dad's playing days) Gained an awesome bass, & have gotten to know his great family as a result.
Best hundred bucks I've EVER spent!

WOW!! That is nice I noticed the ser.# starts with 4 mine starts with 5 and its a Jan. 61 bass how much earlier was yours produced maybe Dec. of 60 ??

my original 62 P (april 1962 slab board). i bought it from the original owner in 1975 for $250(!)
