I was able to get a (pretty) good deal on this bass. It's an all original 1959 Precision. Original all the way down to the strap. I was a little nervous before receiving it because I was holding the expectations too high. But man, let me tell you. It is the best feeling and playing P bass I've ever played.

Description: Up for grabs: 1959 Fender Precision Bass guitar. Serial is 39118, THIS BASS IS 100% stock, no modifications. The frets are original and have plenty of meat left. No issues with any of the electronics. The neck shape is on the thinner side- very shallow-wide D Shape. The neck itself is in good shape as well, the original owner had some pencil / learning bass via Mel bay marks on the 3,5,7th frets on the side which you can still see but they've worn out over time. There is a piece of medical tape residue on the fingerboard near the heel of the neck, where the original owner used to rest his thumb- I have not removed this- as its an identifying mark. You can see the same tape in a photo of the original owner with his band the "Valiant's", which is included & framed.
The body has various Knicks, dings & marks all over the place, finish checking & tons of mojo. A conservative estimation of 75% original finish is intact. Its light weight and it resonates like no other bass I've played.. Endless Bass God tone. Putting out good vibrations all the time, I also have the original fender lacquered tweed case, (Fair condition), all the orange plush inside is intact. Bass also has the original pickup & bridge covers & they look virtually new- some minor scratches due to age/play but you can tell they're old and the foam on the bridge cover dried out and fell off inside the case. Still have the foam- Original Leather fender strap- 2 Gray "Grip here" fender/switch craft style cables.
The tuners have some tarnishing on the buttons but otherwise they are very tight and hold tension fine. The bass is setup with Dogal 105/45's the action is smooth, low - The dogals have a fat sound and tight feel, tad expensive at $65 a set but worth it for this bass. I also have a set of Dogal Jaco Flat wound strings I'll toss in if you feel the need to get some Birdland on. The Bridge is original , everything is original/stock. ---------------------------------------------------
The neck is perfect. I can't believe it is in such good condition. I'm at a loss for words, really. I'm selling a few basses in the For Sale section in order to pay for this thing, but it's worth it.
