Fender precision 73 Bass with crack in headstock

Yeah, that's a repair down the line. I recently turned down a deal on a fretless P with a similar crack - the $450 bass with a potential $200 repair just wasn't worth it.

The crack is with the grain. That's a lot of wood glue and a clamp a few years down the line - preferably ASAP before it gets worse. Recommend he take it to a well-known repair man and keep the receipt.

Have you payed it? Does it have the mojo? If you haven't played it, forget about it. If you have & it has the mojo, talk him down.

Interesting since I've never seen a bullet on a 73 Jazz, and I also did a quick search and found no pictures of 73's with the bullet and plenty with the regular plug in that place.

Yeah, I've always wondered about the whole Fender neck thing. I think its that maybe you won't see one dated on the neck after that point. They made batches that they used for years.
