Fender Precision and a soddering gun?

Okay, I have a soddering gun, some Pleadge wood polisher, a mini-rotary kit and a Fender Precision bass.

I was wondering a few things:
Can I take the frets off?
Would it be safe to put Jazz pups in it?
Can I polish the body?

And what are some other things you suggest I do?

Yes, but you have to be careful.

Safer than pulling the frets:)

I would refrain from monkeying with it just for the sake of monkeying with it. What is it that you want to be different about it? What would work towards that goal?

Really the thing is just old, I don't think I could get mroe than 25 bucks for it. The screw hole is stripped for one of the holes in the pickguard and it's pretty beaten up. I'm just looking for some bass experience by toying with it, I'd love to get it to sound like a fretless jazz, but if not that's cool. Just really I'm open to any changes. I have a Rogue LX406 Pro surrently that I love(6 strings, they had me at first sight and I'm sticking with them.) and I've also got an Ibanez Soundgear, they both suit me very well and I can get by without the Fender, but I think the toying knowledge is worth more than selling it for 25 dollars.

awww heck ... no sense wasting your time on THAT ol thing ... specially with a stripped pick gaurd hole ... who wants an OLD beat up P BASS laying around ... lemme help you out and give you 26 bucks for that ol' thing!! :) ... ya, how old is it ?? ... and can you elaborate as to what it is, Squire, copy, etc??

Sorry guys, I've been tryign to fix my internet and when it has been up looking for real real cheap fretless basses.

It's a real Squier. It's about 2 years old. I don't really want the money for it, I would just like to experiment with it.

Thank you for your help, I'll probably just take it apart and re-assemble it a few times, maybe take off the frets and replace the pups.

I just peeked at your profile ... sorry, did not realize that you were a 14 year old, or I would have never have made the smart aleck comment I did ... heck, you might be the next Ed Friedland, getting your start here asking for advice how to tear into a piece ... good for you!! ... take it apart and put it back together many times, and learn the mechanics of this racket as well as the performance ... in 20 years I will be first in line to have you build me a bass ... oh, wait, that would make me in my mid 70's ... better have you make me a wheelchair :)
