Fender Precision Bass Plus

There is a few differences, the P Plus has the Fender Lace Sensor pick ups and a 22 fret neck. The body is also quite different in shape, it has a top horn shaped like a "Boner" hence its nick name. Fender only built them for a few years. I must admit I dont know the technical stuff about it in detail. I bought it when I was about 15 and have played it ever since, its the only bass I have ever owned but I plan to but a cheaper bass to use for gigs in pubs etc.

Hi.. just found this thread on Precision Bass Plus. I have a '92 model and cherish the thing. I also have the manual which came with it. It is only a small booklet and I have attached a pic of the cover. There are 13 pages covering specs, adjustment care and maintenance. If anyone would like a copy, I would be happy to make a pdf file and pass it on.

Let me know if interested via PM.. Cheers

What's the difference between this bass and the Fender P-bass Special? The one with the gold pickguard, P body, J neck and both P/J pickups.

MIA vs MIM Pbass Deluxe has extra deep cutaways to the body (unique to that bass) Pickups are Lace Sensors on the older ones, active P/humbucker on the newer ones. But they share 1 thing in common: both are fine basses. I own one of each.

My Pbass Deluxe is blueburst: metallic blue fade to black. I'll post some pix when I can find the disc they're on.

Edit: found a pic of the Fender bros:

I have one in Artic White with the white pickguard (just like the one on the cover) I love it and you can get them at resonable prices.

average for non-plain models (white, black, red) is typically $1200 up to $1500 for maple necks in the rare colors and i gotta tell you i would find every penny of it reasonable. the cool thing is if you get plain janes in black or white you can snag one hell of a bass for $700ish

Is the colour of my '89 P-plus model is BLACK PEARL BURST??

It was the original finish from fender as it had no signs of any repainting job, as in the neck pocket and pickup/electronics cavities shows the original finishing job done from fender factory. Its look GREEN-er but shines like a solid GOLD under the stage lightings. *my gold pickguard was a sticker.
