Fender Precision Case/Bag

Where/what is the cheapest method for me to get something to carry my Fender Precision Bass around safely in my car?

All I've seen online is a hardshell case that was about 140 online. Any other cheaper alternatives?

Can I just walk into my local music shop and get a bag for it? Or do bags/cases have to be specifically made for specific basses?

Most stores will carry various gig bags at many different price points that will fit a P Bass. I've done it many times and have never found a store that didn't have one in stock.
