Seems pretty sweet with the bound ebony fretboard with dot inlays rather than blocks.
Thoughts?

It came out after the Lightweight Ash model, so I assume it is a current model...as I mentioned, I saw it a month ago for the first time.

I contacted Wildwood Guitars and they reached out to Fender, Fender said they are not producing these anymore.

I just played one of these in a shop. Very nice. The neck was great if you like a girthier Jazz neck, and I liked the binding with dots. It comes with the chrome pickup and bridge covers, uninstalled with no holes drilled. It had reverse tuners.
The sound was very wide-ranging, and the tone knob had a greater sweep than is often the case.
The Plasma Burst finish was much redder than the pictures and video on this thread. There was some fairly subtle flame on the top.
It was very noisy. The hum was very pronounced, especially with the tone knob turned up.
The weight seemed very reasonable and the bass felt balanced, though I didn't play it standing with a strap.
Overall, it struck me as a somewhat more upscale (in terms of aesthetics) version of the American Original.

@Pet Sounds thank for sharing! one arrive at a premium dealer I'll go try it next week, I'll compare it to the feel of my 65. I'm curious about the overall tone with the ebony fingerboard and the thickness of the neck!

Fender produced a similar USA deluxe model in 2000. I had one for a number of years but sold it a while back. Great bass.

I don't know why but spalted, flamed and other assorted "unique" wood tops on Fenders (or fender lookalikes anyway) strike me as really odd. I like a figured ash body, sure, but other than that, they seem a bit alien to me.
