Search didn't come up with anything, so here to ask about replacement speakers for my Rumble 800 2x10 combo.
Bought it used, a bit ragged, and the drivers have been going down hill.
Anyone out there replace their Rumble 2x10 combo speakers?
anyone upgrade to better drivers that work with this particular cab?
Thanks!

I would check with a Fender electronics authorized service center to see if they can order them for you.

I am assuming that this is an 8 ohm 210, the drivers are 16 ohms. I do have a new pair here in my shop, but would rather not sell them unless you can't find them available elsewhere. The do show up on eBay from time to time.

Thanks! I can’t imagine replacements are unavailable. But then again, the way things are these days I would not be surprised.

I suggested that too, Andy. But, I've also heard of people getting something close just by calling Eminence and asking, though they can't legally sell the actual OEMs directly, right?

I would assume that, too. And that corresponds with info in the Rumble 800 combo manual, as well.

Andy, do you have a pair of the newer neodymium speakers, or the more ubiquitous Rumble 10" ceramic speakers, as for the 500 combo and 210 cabs?

said in the Rumble Club: ... ... I play odd ball stuff with non standard string gages and tunings. I stack a lot of sonics using 4 parallel paths and looping, so there can be some heavy transients which the Rumble input stage handles really well. It does ask a lot of the speakers though, so running the extension 2x10 is better than the combo alone, by far.
... ... Had a close look today, cones all travel smoothly and there doesn't seem to be any obvious issues. Perhaps I'm spoiled from having the quality Mesa rig lol.

So, maybe the R800 speakers aren't actually "going down hill" after all? Maybe they're just more sensitive to your "odd ball sonics and transients" than your previous rig(s)?

Have you tried playing some regular stuff and see how these speakers sound with that?

I have the ceramic version. I missed the combo part.

If I can see a picture of the back of the driver, it’s likely that I have recone kits for the Neo version too.

Yes, this is the neodymium set.

It’s possible that the problem isn’t with the speakers after all.

The amp section works cleanly, the issue isn't really in that aspect of the amp. The 2x10 extension cab sounds much, much better. It is also built differently, different drivers as mentioned previously, that could be it. Seems folks over at the R. club have added damping to some of these models to improve their sound, that might be worth a try. Will definitely be reaching out to Fender tomorrow.

D., if you get any help from 7ender, we'd really like to read about it in the Rumble Club, please.

If not, try calling Eminence and ask for their recommendation. And tell 'em you think the ceramics in the Rumble 210 sound better than what you have, too. They might have some Neo and ceramic models to try. 👍

Hi there, so any results? I have that Rumble 500 combo in club. I want to try to put there two Beta's 8Ohm to have more power in 4 Ohms together...I don't use any external cab so I think that will be o.k. This combo sounds o.k. little "hairy" maybe different tweeter? (maybe different combo?)
🙃

The Betas have a lower mechanical power handling, note that the published value is “program” power which it twice the “rms” power that most manufacturers use.

thank you I know that o.k. I think I play in good volume I'll not break them...just want to hear if there will be better color of sound or not.
(BTW...man I'm waiting for new MESA head from Thomann! :-) can't wait! )
I don't think so, the Fender drivers are very much optimized for that cabinet.

Shouldn't be long for the new amps to get there...
