Fender Rumble 410 speaker arrangement question

Hi Folks
Newbie (ish) here so hope I am doing this correctly. If not, apologies.

So, can anyone advise me on the arrangement (Ohmage and wiring) of the speakers in my Rumble 4x10 (4Ohm) please?
I am kinda assuming 4 x 4Ohm speakers wired as 4+4 in parallel with 4+4 (i.e. 8 || 8 = 4Ohm)
I have more recently bought a Rumble 500 combo (2x10 8Ohm) but I can't use this with the 4Ohm 4x10 as this would be 2.67Ohms .....i.e. a potential amp smoke generator.
Wondering if I can reconfigure (rewire) the 4 speakers to make matching better.
Can I series connect the 4 x 4Ohm (16Ohms) and parallel with 8Ohm combo to give 5.3Ohms...so wont be too far off the ideal 500W @ 4Ohm

I don't find the specs on that cab, so not sure of the individual speaker impedance. I think your logic is fairly sound, but there's a chance it's wrong and a bit dangerous.

What about selling your cab and buying a matching used 210 Rumble cab (8 ohm)? That's the safe and sure way to go!

Crack the cab open and have a look. Once inside, you can disconnect the wires to one of the drivers (mark which is which so you can reconnect correctly later), and measure the resistance of one of the drivers. The DC resistance is usually approximately 70% of the rated impedance. So if you measure around 3 ohms, it’s a 4 ohm driver, and if you measure around 6.5 ohms, it’s an 8 ohm driver.

Once inside you can also track the wiring to see if it’s wired series/parallel, or parallel/series, or all parallel, or...

Thanks G-Dog.......I guess if wasnt so lazy I could just pop the back off and look at speakers. I shall pop over to Rumble Club...thanks for advice and invite :)

Just for the sake of curiosity, where in South Wales are you? At one time I lived in Caerphilly. Wow! I can still spell it!! LOL

When removing or reinstalling the back of the cabinet do so slowly as you don’t want to pull or push the cones enough to strain their suspensions.

I dont really want to swap out the 410 4Ohm cab as I also have an MB4210 (4Ohm) which I sit on it to get down to 2Ohm for 450W. Was hoping I could rig up a simple impedance converter with external switch over........maybe not :)
 
A 4Ω 4x10 will use either four 16Ω drivers all in parallel or four 4Ω drivers in series parallel. The only choice you have is wiring the 4Ω drivers in parallel for a 1Ω total impedance.which no amplifier will drive.

Using the 2x10 together with the 4x10 gives you your 450W divided equally into both cabinets 225W each. The drivers in the 2x10 will ‘see’ 112.5W each whilst the drivers in the 4x10 get around 60W each.
