I'm a guitarist turned bassist b/c band needed bassist. Using our guitarist's old bass amp for practice & gigs. Recently joined a 2nd band on bass and need to buy my own amp.

Current Amp: Ampeg BA115 Ampeg: Bass Amp Original Series - BA115
Bass: Peavy Patriot
Genre : 1st band is Punk, 2nd band is Indie Rock

Punk band gigs 2-3 times a month. Local live music venues/bars. Small/Medium-ish? 100-500 capacity, not saying we fill em out, but we're working our way up and might be playing in some larger venues (~1,000 capacity) soon.

Indie band hasn't gigged yet but we'll be playing similar sized venues in a month or two.
We are renting a (very small)studio space soon and I'll need my own amp since the BA-115 belongs to guitarist in Punk band.

I've always been a fan of Fender Amps and Guitars. Mr. Speed Metal at Guitar Center was really pushing Mark Bass but they looked way 2fast2furious for me.

So, Rumble 500 Head ? Good choice?

With the 210 cab? I can add another one later if I need it.

That should sound much better and get louder than the BA-115, but also be a good size for the small studio space?

I own the Rumble 500 head and two of the 2x10 cabs. If I had to use one cab with the head for a louder band (not to be presumptuous that your bands are loud), I’d probably get the 4x10 cab, but the pair of 2x10 cabs is a pretty ideal setup. They are only 39 pounds each, together they give a four ohm load, stacked they are nearly the same height as an 8x10, and you have the option of only using one. I also have used my Orange 1x15 as a stand-alone with the Rumble 500 with great results. It’s heavier than the Rumble cabs, but very efficient.
